After being rudely awakened by the crazy thunderstorm that rolled through Newport at 4:00AM, we weren't sure what kind of day we would have - if any - at the market. Scanning the weather.com radar at 7AM we saw that a break in the rain was possible, and decided to head to Anderson. Good thing we did; it ended up being a gorgeous day full of encouraging interactions at the Carabello Coffee booth!
Today we met several people that had actually been checking us out online before they came to the market and decided to give our coffee a try. Talk about encouraging! It was also our second week in a row that people who purchased whole bean coffee the week before came back to talk about what they liked and buy some more. It is a great feeling to know we are putting out a product that people actually want to brew every day in their homes.
Emily was really blessed to hear that a number of folks have been positively commenting on the entire look, feel and set-up of the booth. As an artist, this is definitely the one aspect of this farmers market venture that she puts the most energy into - and it shows. Our booth continually looks great. Nancy Downs, the woman in charge of the market, told us that someone came over and told her that we should be giving marketing tips. Funny!
Today we sold the most coffee we have to date. And that on a day when we weren't sure we would end up having the market. We were also super encouraged, once again, by our many cusatomers and friends who continue to come out and support us. You make our days more fun and we love all of you!!!
