Velocity Bike & Bean is one of three finalist in this year's Best of NKY competition in the Best Independent Coffeehouse category. As Velocity is the cafe we roast out of, we can't help but be thrilled to be a finalist and pulling for them to win. After all, their customers are drinking our coffee!
The voting will occur during the Best of NKY 2012 Event Thursday, May 17 from 5:30 - 8:30PM at Receptions Conference Center in Erlanger, KY. The event promises to be pretty sweet as the finalist in each of the 63 categories will be there strutting their wares and giving out tons of free samples. Think of it as a "taste of NKY" type event. Tickets are $20.
Emily will be there giving out free coffee samples (I will be conducting the MVCA bands in our annual Spring concert) and schmoozing with guests. Wait, I'm not sure my wife schmoozes... OK, couldn't resist writing "schmoozes." Call it a weak moment. Nevertheless, she'd love a few familiar faces to swing by and cast a vote!
Check out the above link to their website for more info. We hope to see some of you there!
We're Roasting This Coming Monday
It's a busy time for me as a band director these days and this weekend my Advanced Band will be on its first-ever Spring band trip - some of you may remember these. So... we'll be moving our roast date to Monday. That gives you a little extra time to get your orders in, but it also bumps our delivery back a day. So... please plan accordingly!
Anderson Farmers Market Right Around the Corner
Once again Carabello Coffee will be back in action on Saturday mornings this summer at the Anderson Township Farmers Market. Last season was such a great beginning for us and we are very blessed and excited to have the opportunity to return. Now in its fifth year, the outdoor market season begins Saturday, May 26 from 9AM - 1PM. Please plan to come out, get some fresh in-season local strawberries, listen to some live music, taste what the guest chef is cooking up and drink some Carabello Coffee! More to come on the details soon! Check out the Anderson Market website for their schedule of events.
This is Emily asking a question...if you saw a latte popsicle for sale at a farmers' market...would you want to try it??? I'm perfecting a recipe, and I want to know if there is interest. Feel free to comment and let me know!
