So, we descended upon Portland yesterday afternoon, and we made quick work of checking out one of our favorites that we had loved in NYC-Stumptown Cofffee. Justin had a cappuccino and Emily asked the barista to take a picture of their incredible espresso machine.
And, although we do intend to visit the incredibly famous VooDoo Donuts-the 2 hour line was a bit much for us yesterday. So, we started at a food truck called Donut-o-rama for a creme brulee beignet that he caramelized for us upon ordering. Did you know that I am obsessed with food trucks? (this is Emily) I checked a book out at the library to research what food trucks to go to in the North West before we came, so although this is mostly about our coffee roaster tour, I can't resist to show you the food trucks too. We are already getting lots of neat ideas about coffee roasting! Today we meet with a roaster of Courier Coffee who only delivers his coffee by bicycle. Portland has about 4,000 bike commuters each morning. I was born in the wrong place!! :)
