16 Nicaragua Santa Helena
Finca Santa Helena is operated by producer Lexania Marin, who we've known for many years, and has been an interlocutor of sorts between us and Buenos Aires and Las Segovias mills. The farm is situated around 1300 meters, and planted in Caturra, and Maracaturra, which is what this separation is comprised of. Maracaturra is a large bean variety of coffee, a cross between Caturra and the so-called "Elephant Bean", Maragogype. It seems to be grown mostly in Nicaragua although I have found nice examples in El Salvador too. The coffee is processed at the Las Segovias mill in the town of Ocotal, and prepped for maritime transit.
