This is a rare experience! A washed process Sumatran coffee is something you seldom find- but this coffee comes from a freshly formed cooperative at the high elevations of Mount Kerinci in the Jambi province of Sumatra- an island of Indonesia. This group of producers have banded together to diversify themselves by developing a washed, honey, and natural processed coffee from Sumatra. These are utilized instead of the traditional wet hulled method which produces the earthy and gritty flavors normally attributed to the island.
The result is a clean coffee with light acidity and tons of sweetness- you'd be hard pressed to guess its origins at first sip! These producers have chosen to grow mostly Ateng, which is a hybrid variety bred from Timor hybrids and Bourbon. We hope you enjoy this exceptional Sumatran coffee.
