Nicaragua La Esperanza Washed
**All local pick up orders will remain available for 30 days. After 30 days they will be donated to a local charity due to storage space.**
This micro-lot is the first one we've roasted from our latest purchase of Nicaraguan coffee. We've been purchasing coffee from Luis Alberto Balladarez for over a decade now, and he continues to improve quality every year we buy from him!
To start off the season's fresh crop, we went with a crowd favorite. La Esperanza is one of Luis's first farms, and this is a selection of only the bourbón coffee variety. This is a very high quality variety, responsible for a flavor profile near and dear to our hearts. Luis pays premiums to ensure that pickers only select very ripe coffee cherry, which is then floated, depulped, and washed. The Balladarez special touch is a slow, even dry on covered raised beds for upwards of a month's time. This ensures an extremely sweet and clean cup bursting with flavor.
Expect a crowd pleasing and crushable cup of coffee. We taste apple, honey, and tootsie rolls!!
In the Cup
CRUSHABLE: Tootsie Roll, Cocoa, Honey, Red Apple
