EL SALVADOR: Chalatenango | La Roxanita
Ignacio Gutiérrez has a long history with farming: Before he planted coffee in the year 2000, he worked with wood and tomatoes, and started his two coffee farms, La Roxanita and Los Pocitos, with just 500 coffee trees. Now he grows coffee on 5 hectares of land. In 2011 and 2013, his coffees won first place in the Cup of Excellence competition. After picking, sorting, and depulping the coffee, it is placed on raised beds to dry for 15–20 days.
