Few things go better together than chocolate and coffee, which is why we have teamed up with chocolate maker Ben Picton of Maverick Chocolate for a special collaboration event! While both coffee and chocolate are a part of the everyday life of Americans, their origin and the process by which the raw products are transformed into what we actually consume are often hidden from view.
On Saturday, June 17, 2017, we will host five seatings at our Analog Slow Bar. Each seating is limited to 6 seats and will be 1 hour long.
Barista Austin Childress and Chocolate Maker Ben Picton will guide guests through a curated sensory tasting experience that will feature 3 coffee drinks paired with 3 single origin chocolates, culminating in a special dessert featuring both coffee and chocolate. This will be a very interactive event, and is a rare opportunity to spend time with and learn from the person who actually roasted the chocolate you will be tasting.
You will not only learn why these men chose the different pairings you will enjoy, but you will also learn how to curate your own tastings and pairings. Raw and roasted beans, nibs and finished chocolate will be on hand for you to interact with as Ben explains the bean to bar journey of chocolate.
