Kintamani is a district of Bali, Indonesia with a beautiful vista of Mount Batur, an active volcano. As the fourth largest coffee producer in the world, Indonesia has both the climate and geography to grow outstanding coffee.

This coffee comes with the descriptor “Bumi,” which in Indonesian means earth. Bumi indicates that this cup will come with the staple characteristics of the region– lusciously full bodied, tame in acidity, as well as notes of chocolate and spice. Yet, the cup also features a next level vibrancy and exceptional transparency of flavor.

The Kartika variety has a high potential for wonderful flavor profiles. It is an Indonesian mutation of the Catuai variety found in South America. The name reflects its Central American roots. The word Kartika is an acronym for Kopi Arabika Tipe Katai, literally meaning “Coffee Arabica Type Catuai.” Despite its potential, this variety is now rarely cultivated in Indonesia because of its susceptibility to coffee leaf rust. Yet, the risk has paid off here!

In the Cup
Coconut Sugar, Plum, Red Tea
