By 1860 Guatemala exported 140,000 pounds of coffee and just 25 years later, it was exporting 40 million pounds! \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eWhile Guatemala’s farming practices are comparable to other countries in this region, Guatemala has an ecosystem that is ideal for coffee production. Not only does the country have an abundance of water, it also has rich volcanic soil. Combine these factors with unique microclimates and you have a recipe that is prime for growing specialty coffee. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThis high-grown coffee comes from the San Pedro Necta district of the Huehuetenango region which sits in the highlands near Mexico’s border. Finca La Providencia is a 96-hectare estate which has been family operated for three generations. Victor Hugo Anzueto is currently running the estate’s coffee production.
