This coffee comes to us from a tiny valley called Pacaymamba, in an area called Incahuasi, inside the department of Convencion in Cusco, Peru. It is the first coffee we have sourced through Red Fox Merchants, and we are really excited to offer it to you.
Aleco, President of Red Fox, and his team are obsessed with finding high quality coffees, especially off the beaten path. They have demonstrated a willingness to go where few others are interested, in order to discover something truly special and unique. For example, click on this link to see just how in the middle of nowhere the farmers of this coffee live.
In the past we have had only a few coffees from Peru - you may remember the Peru La Palma last year - a crowd favorite. And each time we land one we are reminded of how enjoyable these high quality Peru coffees can be when done well.
Here is what Aleco has to say about trekking into Pacaybamba:
In the Cup
We taste blackberry, sweet cola, dried cranberry and honey. The acidity is nicely structured, and the body is very smooth and approachable, as you would expect from Peru. A truly "All Day" drinking coffee.
