US Coffee Champs Nashville 2019 recap
This past weekend some of our staff made their way down to the US Coffee Champ regional competition. Our Director of Coffee Education, Austin Childress, was a sensory judge for the competitors. Along with him went our Cafe Manager, Natalie Schaurer, Designer, Steph Landry, Lead Barista, David Holman and Barista, Shawn Richardson.
When they were there they got to meet others in the industry, witness countless competitors battling for a chance to move to the National competition in March, and consume copious amounts of coffee. They will all agree that they had a blast being together and witnessing some of the industries best share with the world how well they are mastering their craft. Did we mention all the amazing coffee spots and restaurants they visited while they were there? Namely, Steadfast Coffee company and Stay Golden Co. The pictures below don't do justice the event or the amazing time they had.
Throughout the day, all the roasting companies that were competing would have time on this cafe to share what they were working on. You could get a V60 brew, espresso, and batch brewed coffee. The batch brew was a Myanmar that was actually what the roasting competitors had to roast for their competition.

We got to interact with a new product called ground control. This can batch brew coffee or tea.
We love MODBAR. This was a sweet mobile one. Beautifully designed. Basically a fully functional espresso machine that is minimal and can be put into countertops! No more bulky machines!
