Carabello Coffee
Colombia Dulima
The history of coffee in Colombia is closely tied to the priests that settled in the country during the 1800s. When coffee first came to Colombia, it was simply grown as a crop for local consumption. It was bartered among locals for decades before it was sold commercially. Donned the father of commercial coffee cultivation in Colombia, a priest named Francisco Romero assigned his parishioners planting coffee as penance. The Archbishop of Colombia got word of this and in turn ordered all priests in the country to adopt this practice. Consequently, coffee cultivation spread rapidly across the country, establishing coffee as a commercial crop in Colombia for generations to come.
Dulima is a coffee created to honor the specific profile of the central and south Huila region of Colombia. In hopes of representing the ancient culture of these farmers, the coffee was inspired by the indigenous groups from this region. These coffees are grown around the mountains and are carefully selected and analyzed. The outcome of this rigorous process is a coffee profile that is consistent and high quality.
