Carabello Coffee
La Bendición Pacamara Honey
Finca La Bendición is located in the Dipilto-Jalapa mountain range of northeast Nicaragua. The farm spans 252 acres, and about half of that land is dedicated to cultivating coffee. La Bendición means “the blessing” and belongs to our dear friend and coffee producer Luis Alberto Balladarez. This land is divided into 8 parcels, each with its own unique varietals planted on it. Year after year, the pacamara lots from this farm are some of our favorites.
La Bendición has been in Luis’s family for four generations and he has now trained up his children as the fifth generation of coffee farmers. His children—Luis Gadiel, Cindy, her husband Jamir, and Maria Josue—have slowly been taking over the reins of the business for a few years now. When Justin and our lead roaster Shannon traveled to Nicaragua this past year, they got to see what this transfer looked like in person. This family is dear to our hearts and we can’t wait to see all the innovation that this new generation brings to the coffee industry!
