Autumn Equinox Seasonal Blend
By September we are longing for fall weather! With that comes cozy flannels, colorful leaves, pumpkin patches, and warm beverages. Cue Autumn Equinox! This year's blend is 20% Ethiopian natural processed coffee from our friends at Abana Estate, 40% washed coffee from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and 40% washed Nicaraguan coffee from producer Roberto Mejia.
We have been sourcing coffee from Roberto for the past 4 years. Roberto works with his son on their farm, finca La Peniel. The farm is extremely remote, located in the mountains of Jalapa. The only way to get there is to hike as there is no road leading to the farm. So how do they ship their coffee out then you might ask? By donkeys of course! We are so thankful for all the hard work the Mejias put into getting their coffee to us each year.
In the cup: This blend has the perfect balance of earthiness, warm spice, and a touch of sweet. It's smooth, round bodied, and absolutely delicious.
