Kenya Kirinyaga AA

The Kirinyaga growing district is located in the Mount Kenya region. The red volcanic soils and high elevation of the region is beneficial to cultivating coffee. Most farms in the region sit above 1800 MASL. 

Kiangoi is a coffee mill which operates under the Rung ‘eto cooperative. Each member of the cooperative tends between 200-500 coffee plants on less than a hectare of land and brings their coffee to Kiangoi for processing. 

The Kiangoi factory uses washing channels and then dries the coffee on raised beds. The coffee is meticulously sorted at each processing stage.
