Abana Estate Sulladjah Washed

$7

We started purchasing coffee from Micheal Omran and his family in 2019. Almost five years later, we can genuinely call them friends. This family has a huge heart for humanitarian causes and takes it upon themselves to be environmentally responsible as well.

The Omran’s journey with coffee production began in 2005 when they discovered the Abana Estate while visiting Ethiopia. The estate started as an old grove forest and is located in a remote area of the Oromia zone. The family poured much of their personal savings into the estate and has since created a farm that produces high quality coffee.

Sitting around 2,200 meters, Sulladjah is the highest area of farmland on the Abana Estate. That is where this coffee was grown! The coffee from Abana Estate is all hand picked and hand sorted. All the varieties currently grown on the estate are heirloom varieties.

In addition to their commitment to quality, the Omrans are passionate about producing coffee in an ecologically sustainable way while also positively impacting the local community. They use a water recycling wet mill and maintain the forest canopy. They fund several community-based medical projects, support local schools, and have built community spaces such as sports fields. We are truly blessed to know the Omran family. We are proud to bring their coffee to you and look forward to doing so for years to come!
